Summer is here! The sun has been shinning and pods of short beaked common dolphins (acrobats of the sea) have become more plentiful. Nothing like being surrounded by hundreds of short beaks showing off and vying for one’s attention. Minke whales have dominated sightings foraging on large concentrations of anchovies. We have also seen the occasional fin whale as well as humpback whale. Sightings have also included large pods of long beaked common dolphins, offshore bottlenose dolphins, numerous ocean sunfish (mola molas), and even a guadalupe fur seal. We look forward to what the rest of June and July have in store on the whale watching front.
