This summer was absolutely unforgettable for us. While the consistency of sightings could have been better, the diversity of marine life was nothing short of spectacular. It’s Blue whale time again! Krill is stacking up along the dropoff and the blue whales are beginning to filter in on the food along the Newport coastline. Consistency has been good for 2-3 days and numbers of whales will be in route. We are looking forward to upcoming trips and more blue whale sightings!

What an amazing couple of weeks we have had in Newport Beach, CA including dolphin trifectas of common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and even risso’s dolphins. Summer is here! The sun has been shinning and pods of short beaked common dolphins (acrobats of the sea) have become more plentiful. Nothing like being surrounded by hundreds of short beaks showing off and vying for one’s attention. Minke whales have dominated sightings foraging on large concentrations of anchovies. This weekend was nothing short of spectacular with 3-10+ giant blue whales seen on all tours. Action continues red hot with blue whales this week as over 10 blue whales were sighted less than 2 miles from Newport Beach on all 3 of our tours. 4+ days of steady and consistent BLUE whale sightings, Newport Beach CA.
